Creating a thriving board takes careful thought and consistent action. This course, designed for Executive Directors/lead staff and board members, explores how to form and maintain a governing body that promotes a legally sound, effective, and successful nonprofit organization. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of board management and leadership, and receive board infrastructure templates and samples that can be immediately implemented. Topics include; board roles and responsibilities, effective committee structure, required and recommended policies, planning, how to recruit and engage an active and knowledgeable board, fiscal responsibility, and fundraising. There is also a pre and post board assessment to help you identify areas of strength and priorities for change.
